Regardless of your level of experience, this course is designed to explore valuable competencies that are critical to achieving a better understanding of employment services for people with disabilities. From the early days of forced exclusion to present-day initiatives of full integration, employment efforts for people with disabilities have undergone a wide range of legal, attitudinal, and technological adjustments. With this historical context in mind, Getting in Gear exposes you to the essential principles and practices that lead to quality workforce participation for the people you serve.
These skills are achieved through a five week self-study course that will take 3-4 hours per week. It is designed to complement your current employment and its requirements can be accomplished at your office and/or your home, as well as within the community.
