Applied Behavior Analysis

This workshop will provide participants with a detailed understanding of the characteristics and core principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. Included in the discussion will be the importance of functional assessment and comprehensive evaluation. A historical review of how behavior intervention has been used and misused over the years and how the current trend has shifted towards the use of positive behavioral supports will be included.

Participants will learn: 

1. How behavior is used as means of communication
2. How antecedents and consequences affect one's behavior
3. Different techniques that can be used to assist individuals in the development and maintenance of acceptable behavior
4. How one's own behavior can affect the behavior of others
